Summary

In "Welcome to Cancerland" by Barbra Ehnrenreich, she talks about as what she describes a battle against breast cancer. She was always going to get mammograms done. She considered getting a mammogram was basically a chore like going to the store. Until the one day she got a mammogram that changed her life when it told her she had cancer. Then she was always going to the doctors to make sure that the cancer had not grown and gotten worse.

There are many things that bother Ehnrenreich, how some people raise money to support breast cancer but somehow the money never makes it to them. She always shes that those that have cancer are basically known as "battling" or "fighting" cancer. Plus those with AIDS are known as "patients" or "victims".

Then the author goes on to explain her experiences with Chemotherapy and how it ended up changing her. She explains the hair loss and many other things. Plus she also says how her life has not been the same since she got diagnosed with cancer. Then she goes on to explain how it changed her life in the bad ways and how it affected her life for the best and what it improved.
